Has anyone here done that?

My intention is to move to Hawaii, so I'm poking around and turning over stones here and there as I continue to visualize. :)

Are there important things for me to know?

Any insights would be appreciated. I'll keep turning over stones as I go.

Warmly,

Velma

Dear Velma,

Thanks.

I have customers in Canada and Hawaii.

3 Suggestions:

I - Don't assume that what the USA or Canadian embassy/consulate says about moving to the USA (contiguous 48 states) applies to Hawaii. They have different rules.

An associate just bought 30 bankrupt restaurants in Hawaii. He's importing ALL his food from the states. Because local suppliers aren't up to snuff.

A big red tape nightmare. Even for someone bringing in so many jobs.

II - I was talking to a Hawaiian friend in his car. Going to a meeting. He was behind the car of the man he was meeting in the same traffic jam. Driving is a mess. So You might contact the Dept of tourism. Your local travel bureau.

Either visit in person and ASK what it takes to move there.

III - Or contact your local Charity, Lions club, Radio or TV station (They win trips to Hawaii)
and talk to folks who have visited over and over.

The islands have been having either extreme drought or Huge monsoon-like rain storms- recently. So be ready for weather challenges if you move.
