An Entertaining Way A Mentor Makes New Friends

Thanks for joining Alexanders Mastermind Brain Trust Site.

A few years ago a mentor told me about his hobby. He walked up to Bank foreclosed Homes and offered to buy.

But he had a Fun Wrinkle...

He'd buy 10 or 20 instant scratch off LOTTO tickets. Have the clerk swipe them on the computer. Mark the winners.

THEN - Go up and knock on the door.

The 1st thing he'd say is: "Today is my 1st day. My boss sent me out to give away LOTTO tickets. As a way to meet new people. HERE. I'm supposed to write down who wins and who loses."

The UNHAPPY foreclosed home owner - scratches and scratches and 2 or 3 of the 5 LOTTO tickets are winners.

He offers to drive the Happy Winner to the Gas station to cash in the tickets. During which time he has time to Become Friends. Ask questions. Find out if the person is a good prospect.

NOW...

I thought this was pretty clever.

Then a client told me about the #1 Car Salesman near his house. Who ALSO gives away LOTTO tickets to everyone who comes on the lot.

THEN - We interviewed a UK furniture store owner who built his store up from nothing to 50 million pounds a year. His Secret? He mails all visitors to his store a LOTTO ticket. And a weekly newsletter.

Mmmmm.

Well, it suddenly seemed to me that I should try this as a way of Tipping. So I began to Say THANK YOU and hand the waiter or waitress a 1.00 INSTANT LOTTO Ticket - which Might pay them 5K or more.

Sometimes when they did a good job. I'd give them 3 or 4 LOTTO tickets.

Wal-Mart clerks - now get a Thank You LOTTO ticket.

Grocery Store clerks. The mail man.
The UPS delivery guy.

AND - I began stapling LOTTO tickets to the top of Letters to prospects. It's Handy. When I call to Find Out if they got my Proposal. I ask, "How much did you WIN in the LOTTERY with that Lotto ticket I sent you?"

Yup. You guessed it. I only mail WINNERS to good client prospects. They are EXCITED and Happy when I call. Makes deals easier to close.

I shared this with my clients and they suddenly started Reporting All kinds of Wonderful Experiences.

I - One man goes into the same bar/grill near his house. Gives the bartender he orders Take Out meals from - a LOTTO ticket over and over. Says THANKS. He reports that the guy gives him FREE milk shakes. TWICE as much food as usual. And ONCE - he put stainless steel silverware and REAL plates in the bag.

II - I've had waitresses give me a Free Dessert.

III - Lots of customers Report being called by name. Having lines opened up Just for them. All kinds of bonuses and Extra Service.

IV - A Taxi Driver in NYCity Reports his TIPS have Jumped by 40% on avg - Because he asks, "Ever had a Taxi Driver Give YOU a TIP? You have now. And gives them an Instant LOTTO ticket.
